International workshop "Architects of Solutions: AI in the hands of leaders and lawyers"

Why is this workshop necessary for you and your team?

Unlike general AI courses, this workshop is designed specifically for the legal and financial sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We don't just teach you how to "write queries," we'll help you integrate AI into your daily business processes.
The topic is in high demand: experts are already trying to apply AI, but without a systematic approach and with risks (leakage of confidential data, hallucinations, court fines for fake precedents). The program closes the gap with a practical and safe approach for a wide audience of the Center.

Target audience (profiles) of the seminar:

The program is detailed for three key profiles of the Center's customer base. These are enlarged segments, and each has its own roles and tasks. One thing unites them: experts are already trying to use AI, but without a systematic and safe approach. The benefit matrix below shows how each program theme works for each profile.

Profile 1 – Managers and managers. Those who make decisions about the implementation of AI and are responsible for quality and risks. Inside the profile: heads of legal and tax departments - how AI is changing department processes, how to control the quality of neural networks (the problem of "hallucinations") and optimize the load on the team; compliance officers and AML/AML/CFT specialists - checking the transparency of transactions and identifying regulatory risks using algorithms.

Profile 2 - Legal Sector (LegalTech). Lawyers for whom AI is a tool to speed up routine: checking and drafting contracts, compliance control, risk analysis, practice search, and Legal Research. Within the profile: corporate (in-house) lawyers of large companies, holdings and the quasi-public sector - accelerate work with standard contracts and automate compliance; lawyers and private practicing lawyers - quick search of judicial practice, analysis of precedents, preparation of claims; legal consulting staff (practice managers, partners) - reduce the cost of routine services and solve the client's tasks faster.

Profile 3 - Tax and financial sector. Specialists for whom AI is a way to minimize errors in calculations and find legal ways to optimize. Within the profile: tax consultants and auditors - analysis of cross-border and complex transactions, preparation of positions and memos, verification of clarifications and judicial practice; chief accountants and financial directors - tax planning and reporting, reduction of errors in calculating taxes and search for legal optimization.

The training is conducted by international expert practitioners with significant experience in the application of artificial intelligence in the field of law.:

Rustam Vakhitov is a tax lawyer, developer of specialized programs on the use of artificial intelligence in legal and tax practice.;
Sergey Bezborodov is the co—founder of iown (Switzerland).

Format: Day 1 – 9th academic day. hours, day 2 – 9 akad. an hour of the main program + an additional 1-hour block on trends (total of 19 hours). A laptop is required - practical classes.
Audience: all three profiles are higher; no requirements for programming skills.
The goal: to provide practical skills for the safe and effective use of generative AI - from competent queries to routine automation and analysis of documents and judicial practice.

Day 1. AI Tools and Safe Use

11:15-12:45	Session 2. Prompt Engineering for Lawyers Techniques for formulating prompts: role, context, and format. Ready-to-use prompt templates for common tasks. Workshop: analysing a tax case through a dialogue with AI for lawyers.

13:30-15:00	Session 3. AI Toolkit and Verification Services for meeting transcription, searching for news and legislation, and preparing presentations. Combating hallucinations; verification of sources and facts. Practical example: fact-checking a tax inspectorate’s position — AI retrieves, at scale, Ministry of Finance letters and court decisions cited by the tax authority and verifies what they actually state.

15:15-16:45	Session 4. Contract and Document Analysis Extracting key information, analysing contracts and tax clauses, and comparing document versions. Workshop using real-world document types. Practical example: checking a contract for compliance with the preferential regime (AIFC) — extracting hundreds of types of services from a contract with dozens of appendices, grouping and matching them against the OKED and the agreement, identifying an excess of the 10% threshold and the risk of losing the tax benefit.

09:30-11:00	Session 5. Deep Research and Preparation of Memos Methodology for conducting “deep research” using AI: capabilities, results, and limitations. Preparing tax/legal memos and analytical materials. Practical example: pre-audit analysis of one’s own documents (“counter-administration”) — an AI self-assessment tool for taxpayers that shows what an inspector may focus on.

11:15-12:45	Session 6. Routine Automation (no-code/low-code) Simple workflows: make.com, AI functions in documents and spreadsheets. Collecting and systematising data “on the fly” without programming. Practical example: a case-law processing pipeline — exporting data from “Paragraph” as a single TXT file, splitting it into documents, processing them with AI, and generating a summary table in Markdown; n8n locally, free models via OpenRouter, local LLMs; a workflow in which “one agent writes the technical specification and scripts — another executes them” to reduce token consumption.

13:30-15:00	Session 7. Case Law and Knowledge Bases Analysing large collections of documents and case law; NotebookLM as a personal knowledge base. Practical examples: large-scale collection of case law by browser agents (Claude in Chrome, Codex, teach-mode) from specialised resources and filtering a sample of 1,000+ cases using the criterion “tax disputes”; AI monitoring of changes in case law and subordinate regulation (letters, industry-specific acts) to identify shifts in legal positions in a timely manner.

Safe deployment within a corporate environment; ethics, court penalties for hallucinations, and verification of evidence (C2PA). Presentation of participants’ mini-projects.

16:55-18:25	Session 9. AI and the Organisation of Work in Law Firms and In-House Departments How generative AI is changing the economics and organisation of legal/consulting firms and in-house functions. Four pillars of efficiency — pricing, data, technology, and management — and the role of AI in each. “Profit leakage” (write-offs, under-recording of time, reflexive discounts) and how AI helps identify and reduce it. Value versus time: why AI is widening the gap between cost and value, and how not to “give away” the entire efficiency gain to the client. Process redesign: which tasks to delegate to AI; how workload pyramids (leverage), team roles and KPIs, knowledge management, and precedent databases are changing. AI quality control (hallucinations), usage policies, and departmental implementation; for in-house teams — what to keep in-house and what to outsource. Workshop: a mini-audit of “where value is leaking” and a quarterly AI implementation plan.
