The International Arbitration Summer School

Dear colleagues,

The Kazakhstan Bar Association is pleased to introduce our partner, the Central Asia Dispute Resolution Association (CADRA), and its joint initiative with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) - the International Arbitration Summer School, which will take place from 10 to 29 August 2026.

The Summer School will convene online from 10 to 29 August 2026. The programme provides students, researchers, and practitioners with a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in cross-border dispute resolution. The curriculum features practical workshops and interactive discussions covering arbitration agreements, arbitral proceedings, the taking of evidence, the recognition and enforcement of awards, cost management, and third-party funding.

Participants will gain insight into emerging trends through sessions led by leading practitioners from Magic Circle firms, elite international practices, and prominent arbitration boutiques. While the final agenda will be published shortly, we have already confirmed participation from Professor Gary Born and Kristina Bittner, Samantha Tan and Nigel Blackaby KC of Freshfields, Matthew Drossos of White & Case, the CLDP, Herbert Smith Freehills, Kramer, Kinstellar, Centil, Omni Bridgeway, the LCIA, the ICC, and the SIAC.

We have received in excess of 1,000 registrations across numerous jurisdictions and the selection process is underway. As places are strictly limited, we encourage interested members to apply at their earliest convenience.
