Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board is an advisory and consultative body of the Chamber that participates in developing the strategic directions of the Chamber's activities. The Supervisory Board is composed of no fewer than 17 members. The Supervisory Board is formed and operates on the basis of the Regulations approved by the General Assembly. Members of the Supervisory Board are elected by the General Assembly of Chamber members upon the recommendation of the Board. In order to maintain public relations and organize cooperation with educational institutions, scientific bodies, international and other relevant organizations, persons who are not members of the Chamber may be elected to the Supervisory Board by agreement, serving as independent members of the Supervisory Board.

The Supervisory Board is competent to:

  • analyse the activities of the Chamber's members and study best professional practices;
  • facilitate the discussion of draft regulatory legal acts in the field of legal assistance;
  • promote the consolidation of the legal community and enhance cooperation with government authorities, the business community, educational institutions and international organizations;
  • facilitate the development of an open information environment and promote awareness of the Chamber's activities;
  • develop recommendations aimed at improving the Chamber's activities;
  • consider other matters in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Charter of the Chamber and the Regulations on the Supervisory Board.

Kazakhstan Bar Association was established on 4 July 2012 as Kazakhstan's first professional association of lawyers. Since 2019, the organization has operated as a Chamber of Legal Consultants.
