About the Chamber

Kazakhstan Bar Association (KazBar) is one of the leading Chambers of Legal Consultants in the Republic of Kazakhstan, operating as a self-regulatory organization based on mandatory membership. The Chamber was established to regulate the provision of legal assistance and to oversee compliance by its members with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chamber's Rules and Standards, and the Code of Professional Ethics.

KazBar brings together legal consultants, partners of leading international and national law firms, professionals from the corporate sector, consulting companies and academia, forming a strong professional community that contributes to the development of the modern legal profession in Kazakhstan.

The Chamber's activities are based on the principles of legality, independence, self-governance, transparency, equality of members' rights and obligations, mutual assistance, and protection of the professional interests of its members.

History of the Chamber

KazBar brings together leading representatives of Kazakhstan's legal market and is one of the country's key professional organizations in the field of legal services.

2012

The Collegium of Commercial Lawyers Kazakhstan Bar Association was established on August 14, 2012.

2019

On June 28, 2019 KazBar was reorganized from the RРО into the Chamber of Legal Consultants in accordance with the RoK Law “On Self-regulation” and the RoK Law “On Advocacy and Legal Assistance”.

Present

During the years of its development KazBar Chamber has become a solid professional community combining over 500 legal consultants from leading national and international firms, specialists from corporate and consulting spheres.

The Chamber regulates the activity of legal consultants, establishes the standards of quality and professional ethics, maintains control and protection of the rights of its members, and facilitates development of a transparent, competitive and highly professional market.

Members of KazBar

The membership of KazBar includes representatives of leading law firms, the corporate sector, international audit firms, and academia. Among the Chamber's members are partners and lawyers of the largest international and Kazakhstani law firms, legal professionals from the legal departments of major companies, as well as professors and researchers from the country's leading universities.

Kazakhstan Bar Association was established on 4 July 2012 as Kazakhstan's first professional association of lawyers. Since 2019, the organization has operated as a Chamber of Legal Consultants.
