Marat Mukhamediyev is a founding partner of IMN. Marat focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and finance transactions, with extensive experience across energy and natural resources. Marat has advised on some of the largest and most complex cross-border deals involving Kazakhstan, representing multinational corporations, international financial institutions, and leading domestic businesses. He also has experience in commercial litigation.

Marat also has extensive experience advising on matters under the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) framework. He played a key role in the landmark redomiciliation of one of the largest international retail groups to the AIFC, one of the most high-profile corporate moves to the jurisdiction to date, and regularly advises clients on AIFC corporate law, regulatory compliance, and capital markets transactions.

Before founding IMN, Marat worked with several leading international and domestic organizations, including Morgan Lewis, Ernst & Young (EY), and the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Organizations.
